You will soon learn that the formation of acne is very easy to understand. And the moment you understand acne is the moment you will begin to cure your acne.
I suffered acne for 16 years and I spent more than $6,000 on treatments and Dermatologist fees – with no improvement in my acne.
I trusted the companies whose products I used, from Proactiv to Accutane – but my money was wasted.
I put good faith into the Dermatologists who told me that they will cure my acne – but they too were part of the massive fraud. They told me blatant lies, pumped me full of useless medications, took 1,000’s of dollars from me and then told me that the best I could hope for was that I ‘grow out of it.’
The damage these people and these companies did to my physical and emotional health – let alone my bank balance – was criminal.
But luckily for me, I never gave up on finding a cure. I spent 2 years researching acne and experimenting different methods of curing my acne on myself.
And then I found the cure. Of all places, I was standing in a natural history museum when everything I had learnt clicked into place. I knew I found the answer. I knew this was a pivotal moment in my life: a beginning of a new me…
I was so excited I rushed straight home and prepared myself for the days ahead…
And in three days I had no new acne flare-ups.
In one week my existing acne cleared away. In one month my face was completely clear.
Within a few months, my world changed. My self-esteem skyrocketed and my life improved immeasurably.
And within six months my skin was glowing, radiant, perfect and envied by my friends.
But when I thought of my method to cure acne, I became both happy and angry – but why?
Because the cure is so simple.
But why didn’t my Dermatologist just tell me? And why doesn’t the pharmaceutical industry just let us know the truth?
Dermatologists and the pharmaceutical industry don’t want you to know how easy it is to cure your acne because then they will lose ‘the keys’ to a multi-billion dollar industry. They make billions of dollars each year and they don’t want you to know that acne is easy to understand and easy to cure.
So, guess what?
I’m getting my revenge.
I’m going to tell you the truth – so that you need not spend an extra cent on useless lotions, creams, medications and visits to a dermatologist…
The Formation of Acne
As I said, acne is easy to understand and easy to treat. Acne is simply an inflammatory occurrence in the pilosebaceous unit in the skin. The pilosebaceous unit is the part of the skin that comprises:
- Hair follicle
- Sebaceous gland (oil gland)
The Pilosebaceous Unit
The sebaceous gland produces sebum (oil) to lubricate the hair and to protect the skin.
There are up to 500 pilosebaceous units per square centimeter of your facial skin. That is, there is up to 500 chances per square centimeter of your face that you will develop acne.
Acne begins to form when the pores of the pilosebaceous unit become clogged from within.
And there are two ways that the pilosebaceous unit becomes clogged:
- Through irregular and abnormal growth of skin cells within the pore
- Through the over-stimulation of the sebaceous gland, which swells and produces excessive oil, resulting in a clogged pore.
When the pore becomes clogged, the sebaceous gland continues to produce oil, and:
- The delicate skin layer beneath the clogged pore ruptures
- The bacteria that normally live harmlessly in the pore infect the ruptured skin layer
- The body registers the infection and sends in thousands of white blood to kill the bacteria
- The skin painfully swells as the white puss builds below the surface of the skin
And we get:
- A ‘whitehead’ if the puss build up is visible
- A ‘blackhead’ if the skin pigment that is mixed up in the inflamed mess of the pimple is oxidized by exposure with air
- A ‘cystic lesion’ if the build up of puss is deep below the surface of the skin
It is the cystic lesion that we all know as being the most painful of all types of acne. It is this type of acne that you cannot squeeze to ‘pop’ the puss out of. And it is the cystic lesion form of acne that results in the skin becoming so damaged that you can end up with scarring.
So, you may be asking:
“What causes the abnormal growth of skin cells and the over-stimulation of the sebaceous gland?”
That’s a good question. Because it is in understanding the answer, you will begin to understand the cure…
Hormones and Acne
Your body is regulated by the production of hormones. Hormones are essential for your growth and survival.
Everything you do changes the balance of hormones within your body – eating, sleeping, feeling fear, falling in love, having sex and every other imaginable physical or emotional activity that your body experiences moment to moment and day to day.
But you have no doubt heard that ‘hormones are to blame’ for acne, as if hormones are a bad thing.
But this isn’t true.
It is when the hormones in your body are out of balance that acne will develop.
And it is what causes your hormones to become out of balance that is to blame – not your hormones.
And as I have said, it is what you do that has a direct influence on the production of hormones in your body. As you will learn, the greatest influence on the hormones responsible for acne is the food you eat.
Perhaps the most influential hormone in your body is insulin. Insulin is considered to be one of the most ancient hormones on Earth, as it exists in every single organism on Earth. Insulin has many varied and highly important roles in the body and it is the regulation and level of insulin in your body that ultimately determines whether you will develop acne or not.
Insulin is very closely related to two insulin-like hormones that have a role in the growth of skin cells, and it is the growth of skin cells within the pilosebaceous unit of the skin that is of particular concern to us.
The insulin-like hormones are:
- Insulin like growth factor 1 (IGF-1)
- Insulin like growth factor binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3)
Each hormone has an opposite affect on the growth of skin cells:
- IGF-1 stimulates skin cell growth.
- IGFBP-3 inhibits skin cell growth and also has a role in facilitating the maturation of skin cells.
Two problems that the human body encounters when it is suffering from an excessively elevated level of insulin are:
- IGF-1 is elevated
- IGFBP-3 is reduced
The result of this is that the:
- growth of skin cells is abnormally accelerated, while the
- maturation of skin cells is impaired.
The combination of these simultaneous growth and maturation abnormalities results in the potential for blockage in the ducts of the pilosebaceous unit – and excessive number of immature skin cells form in the duct and hence there is a high chance for acne development.
Yet there is another major influence that insulin has on the formation of acne:
Insulin promotes the conversion of testosterone to dihydroxytestosterone (DHT) and DHT latches on to a receptor on the sebaceous gland and over-stimulates the gland into producing excessive oil.
I will repeat:
It is excessively high levels of insulin in your body that will provoke a ‘hormonal cascade’ that leads to the formation of acne.
Therefore:
EXCESSIVE INSULIN IN YOUR BODY =
ABNORMAL SKIN CELL GROWTH IN PILOSEBACEOUS UNIT =
CLOGGED PORES =
RUPTURED DERMIS =
BACTERIA INFECTION =
ACNE
AND:
EXCESSIVE INSULIN IN YOUR BODY =
EXCESSIVE DHT IN YOUR SKIN =
EXCESSIVE OIL PRODUCTION =
CLOGGED AND SWOLLEN PORES =
RUPTURED SKIN =
BACTERIA INFECTION =
ACNE
